A NATIONAL charity is calling on Worcester residents to join them in volunteeing in the city centre to raise funds for people living with terminal illnesses.
Marie Curie will be at the city’s CrownGate Shopping Centre tomorrow (Saturday) to collect for the ‘Great Daffodil Appeal’, and is hoping kind-hearted members of the public will join them for two hours to give out daffodil pins in return for a donation.
The Great Daffodil Appeal is Marie Curie’s biggest annual fund-raising campaign and will see donations go towards helping Marie Curie Nurses be there for people living with a terminal illness in their own homes.
Rachel Nash, community fund-raiser at Marie Curie, said: “We’re calling on the people of Worcester to help us make every daffodil count this year. All you have to do is encourage people to give a donation and wear a daffodil pin, it’s that simple.
“So round up your friends, family and colleagues and together we can help Marie Curie Nurses provide vital hands on care and emotional support to people living with terminal illnesses.”
