Walk-in vaccination clinic open in Worcester this Saturday

Worcester Editorial 9th Jul, 2021   0

WORCEESTER residents 18 or older who haven’t had their Covid-19 vaccination yet have been invited to a walk-in clinic this weekend.

The pop-up vaccination clinic will open at St Peter’s Baptist Church, Eden Close on Saturday at midday. You do not need to book, just turn up and have your vaccine. Please remember to bring photo ID with you to prove your age.

The vaccination is available for people to receive their first dose only.

Those who have not received a first dose of a COVID vaccination, are being particularly encouraged to attend this walk-in clinic.

The clinic will be open from midday to 5pm.

Public Health in Worcestershire, together with NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group and Worcester City Council are working to help people get their first vaccination where they haven’t been able to already.

Dr Kathryn Cobain, Director of Public Health for Worcestershire said: “Across Worcestershire, our vaccine programme has been really successful, the numbers of people taking up the offer of a vaccine have been positive. We are so grateful to everyone who has come forward so far across the county.

Simon Trickett, Chief Executive Officer for NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCG said: “As the nation gears up for the removal of Covid restrictions in July, it is more important than ever that all adults get their vaccine, to protect themselves and those around them.

“I am thankful to all partners and volunteers who are supporting by taking part in the ‘Grab a Jab’ weekend.”

This walk-in clinic is part of a nationwide initiative happening over this weekend called Grab a Jab Walk-In Weekend, giving those who haven’t already had their first vaccination an opportunity to do so.

Booking prior to attending the clinic is not needed but you will need photo ID to confirm you are over 18, to receive a vaccination.

The on-site team can find your NHS number if you bring this documentation.

You don’t need to be registered with a GP to access the vaccination.
