Will ewe be there?

A CITY CENTRE church is encouraging its regular congregation and visitors to flock to its Christmas nativity service.

St Paul’s Church on St Paul’s Street hopes guests will dig out their tea towels and dressing gowns and come along dressed as shepherds for the service on Sunday (December 23) at 10.15am.

A further celebration of Christmas will be held at 6.30pm that evening – a candlelit service featuring many well-loved carols, some with a modern twist and also featuring the 40-strong St Paul’s Citycare community choir. Services will also be held on Christmas Eve from 11pm and on Christmas Day from 10.15am.

Congregation leader Paul Boyd: “We’ll welcome anyone to our service, but if anyone would like to come dressed as a shepherd, that would be great. There’s no need to be shy, or ‘sheepish’ about it.”

“It may mean the stable will be a bit crowded and overrun with shepherds, but we’ve got a fairly big stage in the church, so we should be ok.”
