WORCESTER’S Black Pear Joggers are urging people across the city to run, walk or jog one to three miles to raise awareness of World Mental Health Day.
Members have organised a run at 8.45am on Saturday, October 6, from Worcester Woods Country Park as part of the #RunAndTalk campaign.
Everyone is welcome whether they are new to running, looking to get back into it or are a regular runner already.
From this Saturday to the following one, people are also being encouraged to run a mile or further whilst chatting with friends, family, colleagues or other runners.
This can be done at a time and location of their choice or by joining one of the organised runs at an England Athletics club or RunTogether group.
The #RunAndTalk drive is organised by England Athletics and supported by Mind the mental health charity, to improve mental wellbeing through running and to break down the stigma associated with getting people talking about it.
It follows on from the successful #RunAndTalk event in February in support of Time to Talk Day which saw around 150 organised runs to support mental wellbeing through running.
