Youngsters have plenty to sing about

Worcester Editorial 11th Aug, 2017   0

MEMBERS of Worcester Young Voices ended another year in fine voice with their annual finale at St George’s CE Church in Barbourne.

All of the youngsters who took to the stage were in fine voice including the Little Voices aged between five and seven-years-old who sang two summer themed songs.

A number of the youngsters were taking to the stage for the first time but showcased their talents with enthusiasm and aplomb.

The bulk of the concert was given by main choir who have had an exciting schedule this term, having sung both at the Worcester Arena and in Warndon Villages a couple of weeks ago.

Youngsters also celebrated success for the second year running at the Worcester Competitive Arts Festival in March.

Members of the senior choir only offered one item because of their preparations for a performance of The Armed Man at Worcester Cathedral next month.

The choir breaks now until September when they will be recruiting new members with no audition required.

Children with disabilities are welcomed provided they can be accommodated safely and members for whom the membership fee is an issue can apply for a remission or reduction of fees.

The new term begins on Saturday, September 9 and potential members can try the choir for a couple of weeks before deciding to join.
