City held to fourth draw in five at Brackley

WORCESTER City were held to their fourth draw in five games when they drew a blank at Brackley Town on Monday (August 25).

Despite dominating much of the game, the Blue and Whites had to settle for another point against then ten-man Saints, who saw Eddie Odhiambo dismissed for a second bookable offence.

Daniel Nti, Nick Wright and Wayne Thomas all went close for the visitors but Dean Sneaker was on hand to preserve the 0-0 scoreline as Carl Heeley’s men remain in 18th place in the Vanarama Conference North.

Manager Heeley said: ““I can’t ask any more from the boys. I thought we absolutely battered them out of site.

“We’ve dominated, we’ve passed the ball well, we’ve created chances. I’ve lost count how many saves their ‘keepers pulled off. We can’t do any more than that. I can’t be critical of the boys, they’ve been outstanding.

“It is frustrating. We could be top of the league, it’s that close. We could be in the top two or three and we haven’t got our just rewards. If we keep playing like that there’s no question, someone’s going to get hammered one of these days.”

City are back in action on Saturday (August 30) when table-toppers North Ferriby United visit Aggborough.
