Double loan boost for City ahead of Colwyn Bay clash

WORCESTER City will be buoyed by a double loan addition as they prepare to make the trip to North Wales to face an out-of-form Colwyn Bay tomorrow (Saturday).

Left-back Johnny Lynch and winger Micah Evans have both joined the Blue and Whites from Conference Premier outfit Southport and are likely to fit straight into the squad for the Valentine’s Day duel.

Lynch will be seen as a direct replacement for the injured Tyler Weir, while Evans is likely to add the attacking spark which has been missing since Jordan Murphy was recalled from his loan spell from Walsall.

Having won just once since the turn of the year, Carl Heeley’s men are nine points off a play-off spot and will be looking to re-kindle the form which had seen them go a mammoth 14 games unbeaten.

Last week’s derby day postponement at home to Gloucester means City will be looking to avoid back-to-back away defeats for the first time since September.

And they couldn’t be playing the Seagulls at a better time.

Gus Williams’ men have gone 12 games without securing all three points, their last victory coming against Gloucester City in a 3-1 win on November 22.

That run, which has included eight defeats, leaves Colwyn Bay currently occupying the last of the relegation places with 28 points.
