THIS Saturday I shall be in Richmond to watch the team take on London Scottish in what on paper should be our most difficult game since the opener against Bristol.
A total of 35 tries have been scored by London Scottish this term – just two behind the Warriors. They have also only conceded three more tries than us and sit five points behind us in third.
London Scottish are progressing well following the dark years and if all goes to plan they should be one of the four teams in the mix come the end of season play-offs.
They will have been working hard over the last three weeks with the simple aim of beating Warriors and putting down a marker.
A certain Mr Neil Best will also have an influence on or off the park. I will never forget the noise he generated from the half time dressing room down at Cornish Pirates in January 2011 when we were being soundly beaten.
What was said – albeit not printable – worked because we went on to win and his influence should not be underestimated.
On December 27, I shall be in Leeds and hopefully the visit will go some way to removing the feeling I had the last time I was there back in 2010.
What I do know from this season is I am supporting a club that at last is building for the tomorrow, not just for today, unlike 2010.
