Hogg in the hot seat - Brive

Worcester Editorial 13th Oct, 2017   0

PREMIERSHIP, what Premiership? The European Challenge Cup is a welcome distraction to all players, coaches and fans alike.

As Will Spencer said in this week’s press conference, it’s a chance to mentally refresh in a different environment.

The last time Warriors advanced from the pool stages of the competition was in 2009, so considering Worcester’s start to the 2017/18 campaign, will they use this tournament to blood youngsters like last year?

Or will Carl Hogg, who is overseeing the Sixways side’s European venture, take the competition seriously in a hope to kick-start the club’s Premiership campaign?

Brive are up first, a side who did the double over Worcester in the same stage of the tournament last year.

So what sort of squad has Hogg selected?

Does the former Scotland international expect the Top 14 outfit to also field a strong side for tomorrow’s clash?

And with Connacht and Oyonnax also to come, what does Hogg make of Warriors’ group?

Observer reporter Aaron Wise will be at Sixways tomorrow to provide live coverage of the clash from 2.30pm.
