WARRIORS Duhan van der Merwe finished on the winning side for the seventh time in 11 appearances for Scotland in a 15-13 victory over Australia at Murrayfield on Sunday.

Van der Merwe won his first cap for Scotland since he joined Warriors from Edinburgh Rugby in the summer and played the full 80 minutes to help secure a third straight win against the Wallabies.

Tries from Hamish Watson and replacement hooker Ewan Ashman scored tries for Scotland with Finn Russell adding a conversion and penalty.

Warriors number eight Sione Vailanu also played the full 80 minutes for Tonga in their 69-3 defeat by England at Twickenham on Saturday.

Vailanu won his eighth cap for his country but first since he joined Warriors from Wasps earlier this year.

Van der Merwe and Tonga became the seventh Warriors players to be capped by each of their respective countries during their time at Sixways.
