Team News: Schonert and Heem return and trio to make debuts

WARRIORS have named a blend of youth and players returning from injuries for tomorrow night’s Anglo-Welsh Cup clash with Sale Sharks at Sixways (kick-off 7.45pm).

Tighthead prop Nick Schonert is back in action and starts in the front row alongside Gareth Milasinovich, who moves to loosehead, and academy hooker Beck Cutting, who will make his first-team debut.

Christian Scotland-Williamson lines up next to Darren Barry in the second row with the latter making his first start of the campaign.

New signing Andrew Durutalo gets ready for his debut as does academy number eight Tom Dodd, as they occupy the back row with Huw Taylor.




Bryce Heem is also back in the first-team fray after injury, starting at full-back, and joins Tom Howe and Dean Hammond in the back three, both of whom impressed in last weekend’s performance at Harlequins.

Academy centre Will Butler will skipper the side after leading Worcester Cavaliers to their first Premiership Rugby A League win of the season last week against Wasps, in what will be his second appearance for the club following his debut in October 2016 against Enisei-STM, in Russia.


He will be joined by Max Stelling in the centres, who is set for his first Warriors appearance since coming off the bench to score against Enisei-STM at Sixways in January.

Michael Dowsett gets the nod at scrum-half after impressing for the Cavaliers and lines up next to Tom Heathcote, as the former gets set for his first start of the campaign.

On the bench, academy youngsters Nick Rigby and Ted Hill could make their Warriors debuts, as could Warriors under-18 youngster Ollie Lawrence and Stourbridge RFC’s Charlie Jeavons-Fellows.

Luke Baldwin could also make his return from a biceps injury and Andrew Kitchener prepares for his first Warriors appearance since February, should he feature from the replacements bench.
