WARRIORS lock James Percival is departing Sixways in a move to French Top 14 side Grenoble.

The 31-year-old helped Warriors win the Greene King IPA Championship along with the British & Irish Cup in the season just gone and is making the move to France after clocking up 88 appearances in a Worcester jersey.

Director of Rugby Dean Ryan said: “We would like to thank Percy for his fantastic contribution to this club.

“He came back into the side at a crucial time during the Championship season and played a significant role in helping us get back to the Premiership.

“He has been a true professional throughout his time at Sixways and will always be considered a Warrior. We wish him all the best in his new challenge.”

Percival, who started his career in the Warriors Academy, went on to play for Northampton Saints and Harlequins before returning for a second spell with Warriors in 2011.

Warriors will find out their opponents for the European Rugby Challenge Cup today (Wednesday) in the pool draw in Neuchatel, Switzerland, from 1.15pm.

Warriors will be among the tier four clubs in the competition which starts in November.
