WORCESTER Wolves will play in the BBL Trophy Final after recording an historic victory over the Sheffield Sharks last night (Wednesday).
Wolves sealed a place in their first major final since entering the British Basketball League after an 84-70 win on the night – winning 146-130 on aggregate.
The club will face either Glasgow Rocks or Cheshire Phoenix in the grand final to be played at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow on Sunday, March 30.
Worcester Wolves director of basketball Paul James said he was delighted for everyone at the club following the historic win.
“I’m delighted we’ve now made it to a final and we’re looking to have a great day out,” he said.
“There was no way we were going to lose this game tonight.
“It’s a very proud moment for the club and everybody associated with it.
“The owner, Roger Clarke, has been involved fourteen years along with Mick Donovan, and they haven’t had a day out at a BBL final.
“I’m delighted they will be now be able to do that, along with some of our long-serving supporters.”
Glasgow Rocks and Cheshire Phoenix play their second leg tomorrow (Friday) with Cheshire leading 80-74 from the first leg.
