WARRIORS’ supporters will be able to see the Rugby World Cup trophy when it comes to Sixways later this year.

The sport’s greatest prize will visit the stadium on Saturday, July 18 as part of the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour.

A tag tournament involving local clubs will held at the club before the Webb Ellis Cup arrives at 1pm.

There will then be an opportunity for people to take a photo of the trophy between 2pm and 4pm, while there will also be funfair rides, live music, stadium tours, food and drink and other activities at the stadium.

Warriors chief executive Jim O’Toole said: “With Rugby World Cup 2015 just around the corner, it is an extremely exciting year for the sport in this country so we’re delighted to welcome the Webb Ellis Cup to Sixways this summer.

“We hope to see as many of our supporters here as possible so they can enjoy a fantastic day of entertainment.”

Launching on June 10 — 100 days before the opening match — the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour will travel through Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Wales and England before arriving at Twickenham Stadium on September 18 ahead of the opening ceremony.

People wishing to attend the Trophy Tour at Sixways are asked to register by visiting www.warriors.co.uk/tickets
